Pontiac GTO
GM had already gone back and revived the GTO name in 2004 only to end up pasting it on slippery coupe from down under. The next version is due out in 2008 and Autoweek has a photo illustration of what it’s not going to look like. Thanks guys. They say they’ve seen spy shots of the car on which the illustration is based and it actually looks sleeker, wider and lower. The coupe may also have four doors with the rear two being smaller and rear-hinged. If that’s true then it seems Mazda was on to something with the whole four-door sports car thing. While production of the Holden Monaro is ending in 2006, the platform will soldier on another couple years for the benefit of other global markets, including the U.S.
