Bentley’s first SUV - the Dominator

Last week we posted on the prospect of Bentley entering the SUV fray with a model based on the platform underpinning the Porsche Cayenne, Volkswagen Touareg, and Audi Q7. Sybarites went digging to find the first example of a Bentley SUV called the Dominator that was a concept produced back in 1994. The Dominator was based on Range Rover mechanicals, and while never produced, the Sultan of Brunei ordered a few, which are the only known examples in existence. According to the site, these pics are from an undercover story published in AutoCar back in 1998. If Bentley did decide to build an SUV, like the Dominator, it would owe its existence to other SUVs already in production, and we’re sure the company could count on the Sultan to buy a few.
